Castle Mountain, with crags that suggest a castle ramparts, is located between Banff and Lake Louise along the Bow Valley Parkway. It was briefly named Mount Eisenhower, but local residents preferred the traditional name. As I descended Highway 93 from Kootenay National Park in B.C., Castle Mountain seemed to float above the mist.
