I dislike them because they are clichéd visual spam, badly conceived, poorly executed and offering little if any insight into the personal or diplomatic relationship between the subjects.
There are of course glorious exceptions and this is one of the best of its kind
I’m looking for 2 freelance photographers to cover Taekwon-do World cup for on site sale in Quebec City. You need to be available from May 31 to June 3. I’m paying 150$ per day (600$ total) + food for about 10 hours per day. You will shoot A LOT. We need to have a picture of pretty much everyone and there will be 1000+ participants.
You will to provide your own equipment. You need:
Canon 20D/30D or Canon 1D or Canon 1D Mark II
Or
Nikon 200D (sorry Nikon user, but we will shoot under LOW light and only the 200d is good enough at ISO 1600)
Fast lenses like:
70-200 f2,8 and/or 24-70 f2,8
and/or prime lenses like
50 f1,8 and/or 85 f1,8 and/or 105 f1,8
A couple of 1gb+ CF cards
You need to speak French and English.
