Manhattan skyline

Une virée à New York n’aurait pas été complète sans la classique “postcard shot” de Manhattan. Ce n’est pas vraiment le genre de photo que je cherchais à faire, mais voici quand même…

LAB (Lake Asbestos Mine / Mine Lac d’Amiante) asbestos mining

On my way to a job in Thetford Mines recently, I could not resist stoping here and there to beef up my asbestos mining stock photo collection. Here is some LAB installation in the district of Black Lake.

Saguenay district of Arvida, Quebec

To stand in the heart of Arvida, with its plume-spewing smokestacks looming nearby, it’s tough to feel you’re getting a glimpse into a modern-day Eden.

Yet this remote Quebec community was born as a model city and cutting-edge town, a Silicon Valley of its day. And now, local residents are dreaming big: They want Arvida, an industrial “utopia” carved out of the Saguenay plain, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Parliament of Canada in Ottawa

A woman runs by the Parliament in Ottawa Monday September 27, 2010. Parliament Hill (colloquially The Hill, in French: Colline du Parlement) is an area of Crown land on the southern banks of the Ottawa River in downtown with a Gothic revival suite of buildings, the parliament buildings, that serves as the home of the Parliament of Canada and contains a number of architectural elements of national symbolic importance.

Parliament Hill, Ottawa

I am in my last day in Ottawa after 5 days of shooting stock. I did not post-processed any images yet, except this one. I am leaving Friday morning to Kitchener-Waterloo where I will give a speech on stock photography at Wilfrid-Laurier University. Hopefully, I’ll make some photos there as well.

Morrin Center: First Common Prison of Quebec City

I use HDR very sparingly. But when I am in front of such a gritty location, I know this is the perfect subject for an HDR.

Read everything about my visit (with Nicolas Roberge) to the Morrin Center on this Quebec urbain blog entry.

Chateau deau de Quebec

J’ai fais une petite balade en canot pour cette photo, réalisé pour un billet sur Québec Urbain. Son histoire est fort intéressant!
