We arrived before her show. One of her staff knocked at her door at The Capitole Theatre in Quebec City. When she opened it, a big question mark could be read on her face. But when I said, “Hi, I’m Francis Vachon, and this is Edward”, Béatrice Martin, commonly known as Coeur de Pirate, put her hand over her face, totally surprised and emotional. “Oh my God, I’m going to cry!” Having Béatrice and Edward meet was a very touching moment. Each time a band member or a road crew was passing by, she was telling him “hey look!, It’s THE baby!” The funny thing is now those photos have an historical value. Edward DID helped in her starting career. If she pursue and become big, those photos will be in demand. So I’m sending them to CP image, and I’m pretty sure they will sell at some point. |

Call it serendipity. On her way to the Junos, Quebec singer Béatrice Martin sees her star rise almost overnight with a little help from a baby, a TV talk-show host, and Perez Hilton

What was a cute video for my friends and my family is now out of control. The Journal de Quebec and Journal de Montreal published a story this morning about “the” video. And then it snowballed with the provincial medias. 2 radio interviews, mention on some TV shows, and a live interview with François Paradis on TVA network. And it’s just going bigger. Edward will be featured on ABC’ Good Morning America, the biggest morning show in the USA. Where will this end? I’m suppose to COVER the news. Not BE the news! |

Francis and Edward on TVA en direct with François Paradis
I never imagined that Edward would be such a star after posting the “Time lapse of a baby playing with his toys”.
The thing is going totally viral, storming the web like crazy (190000 views as I write this)! Fagstein have a look at how it goes.

I take little brake from packing our stuff to write this. Cindy and I are leaving early tomorrow for her remote hometown of Lebel-Sur-Quevillon. A good 11-13 hours of driving awaits us. My step family was supposed to come during the holidays, but Cindy’s mother health condition just deteriorate so we’ll do the trip this year. I am of course bringing most of my gears with two ideas in mind. Lebel-Sur-Quevillon main (and mostly unique) employer, the pulp and pulp mill and sawmill, just officially closed after 3 years of lock out. To give you an idea of how bad the situation is up there, a 12 apartments building recently sold for 20000$. No, I did not forget to put a 0 there. Secondly, Cindy’s father Leon is a hunter and used to be a fur trapper. We’ll go into the northern wilderness in snowmobile, and I should be able to get some good landscape photography and, if I get lucky, some wildlife too. I don’t know if Internet will works up there with my phone, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to update before we come back. |
I’m in my hotel room in Maniwaki, QC. We are here to see Cindy’s grand-mother, or if you prefer: Edward’s grand-grand-mother. It’s a very long way from home, but it would be even worse if we were visiting her parents.
The fun thing about being a freelance photographer that has stock photo as part of his business is that every travel that you make can count as a business related stock shooting. Because that’s what I do: I stop here and there to collect photos for my bank. So gas, restaurant, hotel and every other expenses are tax deductible.
“I’m not sure the bed will go thru the stair case”, said the delivery guy. “Did they move your current one thru there, or did they lift it thru the balconies?”
And here we go again.
“I don’t know. My parents took care of everything because we where at the hospital the day we moved in”
In many situation of our daily life, we are remembered the day Victor came and left. Now that we have Charles-Edward, we are often asked, “is he your first one?” Each time, we don’t know if we should say the truth, “he’s our first one alive”, and creates an uncomfortable moment or if we should diplomatically say yes, at the expense of his memory.
Time faded the injury, but sometime, our memory of that day comes back and it really hurts.
Hey, I’m a father for two months now and I did not flood my blog with photos of him yet. So here is a bunch of photos of our cute little boy.
You should be good for another two months without me bragging about the fact that I have the cutest baby in the whole world.
